Part of the H S M Group of hotels, the 3 star Hotel Maria Luisa is situated around 150 metres from the beach, in the quiet resort of Portals Nous on the south west coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 10km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a short walk from the centre of the resort, where you will find a selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Extensively refurbished during the winter of 2001, the modern low rise Hotel Maria Luisa has a total of 120 guest rooms, including 106 standard twin rooms and a further 14 singles, which are built over 4 floors, and set amidst spacious sun terraces and Mediterranean style gardens around a large central pool area. All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and cosmetic mirror, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, all rooms are also provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week. Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, laundry and medical services, a games room, public internet terminals with high speed WiFi access available in selected areas, and both lounge and pool bars. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children's playground and mini club, as well as both pool and table tennis tables. Of special interest to sports enthusiasts, the Hotel Maria Luisa also offers the use of a hard surface tennis court and squash court, along with a multi sports activity area for football and volleyball etc, and a well equipped cardiovascular gymnasium. The Hotel Maria Luisa also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, archery and aerobics as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco, which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
